Mark Your Calendar: Mesothelioma Awareness Day (26 September)
Every year on 26 September, health and safety organisations across the UK mark Mesothelioma Awareness Day to highlight the devastating impact of asbestos-related disease. Mesothelioma is a serious cancer caused almost exclusively by past inhalation of airborne asbestos fibres - often taking several decades after initial exposure for symptoms to appear.
Because symptoms take so long to develop, proactive prevention today remains the single most important line of defence.
